One of Europe’s biggest warbird airshows and fly-ins will return in 2025, having not been held since 2019.
Oldtimer Hahnweide (OTT), held just outside Stuttgart, will take place on the 12th-14th September. Hosted at a small grass airstrip, the show is famous for bringing together a huge variety of airworthy warbirds and classic aircraft, many of which very rarely appear in public.
Announcing the resurrected show, the organisers said that inflation and other major crises prevented them from being able to responsibly organise the event in the past few years.
“It looks like we still have some fuel in the tank and the oil level is fine,” they said. “We’ll charge the battery this year, but then! Then we turn the key together, press the starter button and watch as one cylinder after the other reports to work.”
“Together with you, we will pay homage to the aviation of days gone by, unite Europe’s aviation enthusiasts at the site and transform the air above the Hahnweide into a Mecca for aviation again!”
While the show is being run by a new organising team, they say the event itself will be largely unchanged.
Registration for visting aircraft will open towards the end of this year.
