Highlights from Airshows Downunder Shellharbour, formerly Wings Over Illawarra. The locally-based HARS museum contributed strongly, with the P-3 Orion, DHC-4 Caribou, S-2 Tracker and C-121 Super Constellation all flying – plus the return to airshow duties of the Fokker D.VII “Southern Cross” replica and P-2 Neptune.
WWII warbirds included the Spitfire, Fw190, two P-40s and two P-51s – with several participating in a balbo flypast. Paul Bennet’s new Sea Fury made its Australian debut, and 100 Squadron contributed their Canberra and A-37 Dragonfly for some extra jet noise.
The RAAF contingent comprised a flypast from a C-130J Hercules and a display and heritage formation involving an F-35A Lightning II and CA-18 Mustang.
