USAF introduces new KC-46A Pegasus Demonstration Team

The US Air Force is to field an official KC-46A Pegaus demonstration in 2025, it has been announced.

The display comes from the 56th Air Refueling Squadron at Altus AFB – a base which already fields KC-135R Stratotanker and C-17A Globemaster displays, often with the two aircraft performing together.

The new KC-46 performance debuted at the Wings and Warriors Fly-In at San Marcos, Texas, on the 9th November. While dubbed as a “demonstration team”, the performance was, in truth, categorised as a flypast, comprising of two straight and level passes: one with the boom extended, and one at a lower airspeed with flaps and landing gear extended.

Following this debut performance, the demonstration team will perform a full calendar of events next year.
