Highlights from Barksdale AFB’s airshow, held at the biggest strategic bomber base in the world and headlined by the Thunderbirds. Local B-52s feature strongly, with special formations (including a bomber heritage flight) and solo flybys.
History was made by Fighterjets, Inc, who presented their first four-ship display. This was the first time that four civilian-operated MiGs have performed a fully-choreographed team display at a North American airshow. WWII warbirds included C-47 “That’s All, Brother” and P-51 “Quicksilver”.
Also of note, brand new KC-46A Pegasus demonstration team, joined by its Altus AFB counterparts flying the C-17 and KC-135. The Titan Aerobatic Team and Red Bull Air Force represented the civilian side of the industry.
