Portugal’s biggest airshow is to return in 2025 as a part of the prestigious NATO Tiger Meet exercise, according to local media reports.
Sharing an image of what appears to be an official promotional poster, Beja-based news website Lidador Noticas announced that the show will return on the weekend of the 27th-28th September 2025, a departure from their normal time slot in June. This is to coincide with NATO Tiger Meet, which is being hosted by Beja Air Base from the 21st September-3rd October 2025.
There is substantial precedent for this, because Beja has aligned its airshows with military exercises in the past. The 2024 edition coincided with the Real Thaw and Hot Blade exercises, attracting rare aircraft such as a French E-3, two Czech L-159s and Romanian F-16 to perform flypasts, while Swiss and Austrian helicopters performed a multi-national role demonstratin. Further exercise participants appeared on the static display.
The Beja Airshow, which is free to attend, is the only airshow run by the Portuguese Air Force, and thus is also the best place to see Portuguese military hardware being put through its paces.
