It’s not often that a new airshow comes along in Britain, but the Midlands Air Festival burst onto the circuit in 2018 with a charming event in the grounds of the Ragley Hall estate. Balloon launches and night displays provided memorable moments, but the bulk of the action came in the form of traditional flying displays from a variety of British civilian performers, most notably the debut of P-47D Thunderbolt “Nellie” after her return to the UK several weeks previously.
