Highlights from the Aerospace Valley Airshow 2022, the first airshow to be held at Edwards Air Force Base in 13 years. Marking the 75th anniversary of the first official supersonic flight, the show featured a sonic boom demonstration by NASA’s F-15 and F-18. NASA also contributed their retired 747SP flying observatory “SOFIA”.
Edwards-based assets, including an F-35A Lightning, F-22 Raptor, F-16s, B-1B Lancer and C-17 Globemaster performed an airfield attack demonstration. Civilian performers included Rob Holland and P-51D Mustang “Man O’ War”, and the show was headlined by the US Air Force Thunderbirds.
