Lithuania to make UK flying display debut at Yeovilton

YEOVILTON | The Lithuanian Air Force will make history at next year’s Royal Navy International Air Day, by contributing an L-39C Albatross to the flying display.

The Lithuanian Air Force made their Yeovilton debut in 2018 with a C-27J Spartan, L-39ZA Albatross and Mi-8UTV Hip on static display. Next year they will be returning with an L-39C Albatross in the flying display and a C-27 and Mi-8 joining the static lineup.

It will mark the first flying display at a UK airshow by the Lithuanian Air Force.

Lithuania’s tiny air force has just 14 planes – four L-39s, one Let 410 and three each of the C-27, Mi-8 and AS365. While they support a small number of airshows each year with static display appearences, it is very rare for their aircraft to appear in flying displays.

The Royal Navy Internaitonal Air Day 2019 will be held on Saturday 13th July 2019.
